2022 TOP 10 Holiday Park Supreme Award Winners

Wanaka TOP 10 Holiday Park returned this week, from the annual TOP 10 Holiday Park Conference and Gala Awards Night with five awards, including the 2022 Supreme Award.

“We were absolutely thrilled to win one award, but our name just kept on being called out, one, two, three, four and then we were announced as the winner of the 2022 Supreme Award, for best Overall TOP 10 Holiday Park in New Zealand. It was just amazing.” said Andrea Kendrick.

It has been a tough year, with uncertainty, sickness and the inability to fill vacant roles, but it just goes to show how a small team can pull together to work hard and deliver spectacular results. We have been so grateful for the wonderful staff we have had throughout this time and were very wary, that there were days where we expected a lot from everyone, but that team culture and support for one another helped make it all achievable.

“It was really special to celebrate the awards night with Jo Bulluss, who has been with us for four years. We are just so proud of Jo, she has worked through this challenging time with such a passion to continually improve and shows huge support for the team of up to nine staff during peak times”. 

Huge thanks, also goes to our guests that have taken the time to complete our post-departure survey or posted and review to provide feedback. Each and every guest that stays at the park is asked to fill out a survey that questions cleanliness, customer service, the likeliness of recommending, guest experience and the TOP 10 Membership Card.  There are some fantastic suggestions that come through from guests, as well as constructive feedback and compliments. It really is a valuable process to go through and it helps us create Memories for Life for all our guests that come and stay

The awards are calculated off statistics from Review Pro, a system that collates reviews from any online platform. As a group, TOP 10 Holiday Parks are always striving to have the best Net Promoter Score in our category in the world and to be New Zealand’s leading accommodation brand providing world class customer experiences with the highest customer satisfaction levels. Currently, sitting at +71 on a scale from – 100 to +100, where 0 is good, +40 excellent and +70 world class it is a huge confidence boost knowing our brand is well recognised and loved.

The past two years has really reinforced the importance of great relationships, particularly those that share the same values and enjoy working at continually improving. These include our TOP 10 Group and Australian partners, BIG4 Holiday Parks. To our sponsors and partners, Interislander, to the local trades teams, Justin Kendrick uses in his renovations, to the website team and product suppliers, everyone has been so supportive and encouraging during what has been a challenging time. The power of people and the relationships that have been built, is what we love most about this industry.  

The focus at the park since we started, eight years ago, was to upgrade the motel units so they were functional, warm and modern. Without COVID-19 disrupting our plans, the renovations would all have been completed by now. Despite hold ups with product supplies, we committed this year to doing two of the four, two-bedroom units, which are due to be completed in November, ready for summer. Although, the oldest units on the property, dating back to the late 1960’s, they were well loved for their space and the views out and over the front lawn. Plans are still not confirmed for the remaining two, two-bedroom units, however we would love to renovate one to be fully accessible, so that families can enjoy a larger unit.   

Wanaka is such a special place to host guests from all over the country and the world. We strive to ensure that our team is happy, that our park is presented in the best possible way and that our guests make Memories for life, in the places they love, with the people who matter the most. We think we are doing well in this goal and it is wonderful to get recognition that supports what we are thinking!
